Based in the U.S. Hoffer Plastics supplies a wide range of customers around the world, including several Fortune 500 companies. At Hoffer Plastics, Marion oversees both current clients as well as prospective and new clients. In his spare time, Marion has dedicated the last 8 years to volunteering, mentoring, and fundraising for programs at the Boys and Girls Club. Tooling And Project EngineerWm Plastics Inc. 2006 - PresentGreater Chicago Area– One of two senior tooling and project engineers who support production for all 35 presses – including new tooling, transfer tooling, tool modifications, tool repairs, and mold optimization. Prepare quotes for all projects. – Provide engineering and sales contact for our largest client, who accounts for 42% of total sales. Expected to be prepared, meet with, and be the leader for any executive-level meetings with this client. – Currently working on coordinating internal resources to accommodate a new project that is coming on line and will process 180,000 lbs of resin through the plant each month. – Coordinated resources for 12 inbound molds; brought this project on line and generated $2.6M in new sales. – Troubleshot and reactivated a mothballed project. This lead to five new tools being built with our client. As of now two 16-cavity tools have been running 24x5 for the past three years. This client is now our 8th largest client. – Strategically sourced and replaced new tooling supply vendors. Improved quality and service and decreased turnaround times. This resulted in acquiring one of our top-10 clients. – Solely responsible for bringing on the 10th largest client by maximizing current business relationships. – Discovered $10K of scrap that was being generated on one particular order. Determined root cause and negotiated with the resin vendor to recoup these losses. – Performed damage control that preserved a key client; this will lead to an additional $400K of sales in 2013. – Traveled to China in 2012 to evaluate current supply base and potential new vendors; annual spend is $650K. – In additional to normal responsibilities, became the interim Quality Department Supervisor until a replacement was found. Trained the new hire to manage the QC department to Novation’s expectations. This was all strategically done to reduce client apprehension and perception of business risks during the transition.
