Started as one of the first 10 employees of this company, today PHPro is a big PHP competence center, housing 60 skilled PHP developers. Over time we grew to a big company of 60 skilled developers. The company's main focus in on building Magento webshops. We also provide custom development both as on-site consultancy and in house development.I started out as senior developer. mainly in the custom development segment. I advocated strongly for quality )Test Driven Development) and professional enterprise level PHP development.In 2017 I also became Team manager, next to my consultancy role. As team manager I need to keep in close contact with my team members and manage their evaluation life cycle.

What started as a short term coaching assignment for one of our junior developers on his first consultancy assignment, ended up being a long term stay of nearly 4,5 years During this period of time, I assumed different roles, depending on the needs of the company at that time. In the beginning II was a coach, teaching by example how to apply a more modern, easier maintainable style of coding (SOLID, design patterns, Test driven development… ). I I got involved in the early architectural design of the new microservice based architecture on which today's implementation still stands.I worked together with a big Indian offshore team, when we started to implement the new architecture. I prepared and validated their work and coached them to deliver better quality.I took the scrum master / tech lead role in another team for an in-house project.I took the senior / coaching developer role in a team that did not perform. Today, this team is the best delivering team at the company.I was also involved in interviews for new developers and squad leads.In the meantime, I also managed to coach my junior colleague I originally started with, into an architect role within the company.After 4,5 years, the company decided to end my contract because they are going to outsource everything to a nearshore company.

In this job I created and later maintained the front end of the CRM exposed to the end-customer. This included the webshop for the various ADSL/ telephony products for consumer and business, a self service area, called My Versatel / My Tele2. This job required good communication between the back end team on a technical level and with the marketing team on the commercial level.

My job was to implement websites in the in-house build content management system written in ASP. After a while I rewrote the content management system in PHP and added a lot of features.A second part of my job was actionScript development in Flash and automation of jobs with indesign.I was also responsible for the implementation of an in-house build platform called Housestyle guardian which was a Visual Basic project that created and delivered customised word templates to the end user.
