I'm an immunoassay specialist familiar with the whole process from the development of the antibodies to the commercialization of the final assay. I have lead and participated projects aiming at developing new assays in international work environments. I'm interested in developing my data handling skills, including programming, data-analysis methods and how artificial intelligence could be used in diagnostics or in development and production of IVD products. My colleagues have described me as easy to work with, helpful and strong team player. I’m solution-oriented and able to approach problems from different angles. I’m eager to develop myself both as a professional and as a person.My latest task as design transfer specialist at Wallac Oy was a great position to see the whole process of assay development from the beginning of the commercialization to the final product in manufacture. As the voice of manufacturing during the new product development process I needed to understand both the R&D and the manufacturing viewpoint.My previous position as Research Manager at Labmaster Ltd involved developing the research and development process within the quality management system (ISO13485) and different regulatory issues (new IVDR). I was the project manager of a new product development project and assisted in managing other projects.During the career at the University of Turku in the Division of Biotechnology I specialized in prostate cancer diagnostics. I studied the clinical value of so-called intact and nicked free prostate-specific antigen (PSA) forms and kallikrein-related peptidase 2 (KLK2) in my doctoral thesis (defense in 2012). I was involved in the optimization and validation process of the immunoassays measuring these biomarkers in a EU funded project. I consulted different groups, which use these assays, and the company, which commercialized the research assays.I have international connections to groups in Europe thanks to the EU funded projects P-Mark and Glycopro. In addition to assays measuring different PSA and KLK2 forms I have developed immunoassays for several other potential prostate cancer markers. Along the research work I have supervised over 30 undergraduate students and one PhD student.
