As the U.S. Department of State’s largest partner on the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), which brings foreign leaders to the United States for short-term professional exchanges on topics ranging from women’s empowerment to global entrepreneurship and countering violent extremism, Meridian's exchange programs provide leaders from the U.S. and around the world with the insight, capacity, networks, and cultural context needed to navigate a rapidly evolving globalized society.

The mission of the Global Ties Network Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Working Group is to ensure that the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and other international exchange programs are inclusive of individuals and resources that represent the diversity of U.S. communities, especially those that have been historically under- and misrepresented. In order to reach the full potential of exchange, multicultural communication, and diplomacy, we will work to improve communications; education; organizational structures and operations; as well as programming methods for the Global Ties Network with regard to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Led and represented a chapter of approximately 150 members, presided directly over General Body meetings as well as an executive board of 12, and directed projects and funds. As President, I also acted as the risk management advisor and intentional programming coordinator for the chapter and its events.

I served on the executive board of the Alpha Kappa Chapter as a liaison for general body members, mitigated organizational and interpersonal disputes within the fraternity, initiated and moderated judicial proceedings, all while upholding a strict ethic of discretion and confidentiality.

I also co-led presentations for 100+ new students per presentation about the importance and purpose of campus involvement, strategies for getting involved, and my personal involvement story.

Under the supervision of the Executive Assistant and Carolina Union Director, the Office Assistant role supports the Administration Office of the Carolina Union. The Office Assistant provides clerical oversight, office support and guidance to customers, while supporting departmental programs, and working on special projects.
