Marisa knew from a young age that she wanted to have a career helping others. After receiving her BA in Psychology, she pursued a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and began working in community mental health, providing therapy services to children and families. She opened ME Psychotherapy in Providence in 2009 and began specializing in maternal mental health in 2011. In 2012, she took a certification course in Perinatal Mood Disorders. She continued her studies in maternal mental health and took the examination to become certified in Perinatal Mental Health by Postpartum Support International (PSI) in 2019. Marisa completed a Post Graduate Certificate Program in Management and Supervision in Human Services in 2021.In February of 2019, ME Psychotherapy expanded to add Telehealth services. In May of 2020, ME Psychotherapy added a second location in Narragansett. In April of 2022, ME Psychotherapy added Walk & Talk therapy services to the group offerings.
