I specialize in complex business litigation with a focus on commercial disputes and energy, trade secret, environmental and construction matters. I have experience handling matters in all stages of litigation, from pre-lawsuit strategy and advice to post-trial motions and appeals. My practice also includes international and domestic arbitration, as well as regulatory matters.My practice often involves high stakes business disputes and complex damages claims. I have litigated claims of fraud, mass tort, construction defect, property damage, inverse condemnation, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent transfer, employment disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, bankruptcy, and professional malpractice. I have significant pro bono experience, and have represented indigent defendants in criminal and civil cases. I successfully argued an appeal of a client's sentence before the Seventh Circuit and drafted the first successful motion under the federal Innocence Protection Act, which secured my client access to DNA testing that could demonstrate his innocence.I am dedicated to gender and diversity issues. I serve on Sheppard Mullin's Women's Leadership Council and as a Cuban American, is an active member of Sheppard Mullin's Diversity and Inclusion Attorney Network.
