My name is Marisa Webster, I am a trumpeter, composer, and educator from Jacksonville, FL. I am a graduate from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts (HS), I received her bachelor’s degree in music with a minor in entrepreneurship from The Florida State University, and a masters degree in Jazz Studies From Temple University. I have had the great opportunity to perform at many music venues and festivals around the country including Carnegie Hall, the Detroit Jazz Festival, and the Kennedy Center, and the Jacksonville Jazz Festival to name a few. Music education is also very important to me. I have had the honor of being invited to speak with students in many educational arts organizations; Most recently with the Savannah Music Festival Jazz Academy. I am a proud alumnus of The 2019 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program, of Dee Dee Bridgewater's Woodshed Network, and alumnus of the 2021 Jazz Aspen Snowmass Jazz Academy Big band. Music is my ministry (Ephesians 5:19 says “Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord”) My goal is to do just that.
