In each department, a different job is required of me. At SocialMedia.org, I have to be multi-faceted, and able to work in a number of different departments, with different people, in different environments. It has strengthened my ability to work in conjunction with other people, as well as to be adaptable in a multitude of areas requiring my attention. Working in the Operations department, I had to pay attention to detail in everything that I did for that team and helped to run the every day tasks of the company. In the Development department, I use skills that I have learned as well as skills that have been taught to me by my co-workers to conduct research on potential new clients and members for SMORG.

Working as a server allowed me to truly learn what working in a high-stress environment entailed--a at any given point, I balanced from 3 to 6 tables full of guests, and was responsible for keeping tables clean, drinks refilled, and food coming quickly and correctly. Additionally, I was responsible for back of house duties, such as running food, making salads, preparing drinks, and cleaning dishes. Adding this all together, I was constantly on my feet and attending to between 3 and 8 tasks at any given moment. I became adept at handling multiple tasks, while keeping a cool head and a positive demeanor at any given moment. I also handled all transactions from guests from the start to the finish of my shift, working with up to $1000 per shift.
