The Senior Academic Officer (SAO) is charged with leading Hiawatha Academies’ vision for excellence for our scholar profile. The SAO role is equivalent to that of a Chief Academic Officer and is a member of the Network Executive Team. The SAO implements the vision and direction of our academic program as laid out in Hiawatha Academies 2020-2025 Success Plan with a specific focus on: ♦All classrooms becoming places of deep student engagement and rigorous learning ♦Deepening educator content expertise, instructional practices, and mindsetsThe Senior Academic Officer (SAO) leads the network Academic Program team, manages the Senior Academic Program Director, and acts as a partner to Principals in their roles as instructional leaders.
