I am a content specialist with over 10 years of experience in Marketing and Communications. I have worked for two of South Africa's media giants, Kagiso Media and Primedia Broadcasting, where I honed my skills on some of the country's most vibrant media brands - 947, 702, Lead SA, Crime Line and Jacaranda FM. I currently head up the marketing department at idna Africa, an experience and creative agency based in Johannesburg, where I work with a diverse portfolio of clients on their event and digital marketing strategies and activities. These clients include Google Africa, Google Cloud UKI, Exxaro, Sasol, Green Building Council South Africa (GBCSA), and the British Council. Trained as a journalist, I spent the first couple of years of my career as a broadcast journalist and worked for esteemed news platforms, including Eyewitness News, Jacaranda FM News and the SABC. I spent more than 8 years at Primedia Broadcasting where I worked in various marketing and communication roles. During my time there I also freelanced for the company’s news brand, Eyewitness News and created content for 702. I am particularly proud of my involvement in the 702 Roadtrip, a brand awareness campaign tailored for SA Tourism. Over the years at Primedia Broadcasting, I was involved in the marketing of several of the company’s flagship events, including Joburg Day, 702 Walk the Talk, and 947 Cycle Challenge (now 947 Ride Joburg, the rebranding of which I was also involved with). I also worked on the branding development of the 947 Breakfast Club and the “947 Loves You” station campaign. I served on the executive for the National Press Club and continue to be an active member. I was also seconded to Crime Stoppers International as the Social Media Chair in 2014, a position I held for two years.
