Actively investing a portion of my and my family's assets. Started with a primary focus on US software IPOs (ETSY, NET, CRWD, OKTA, SHOP, DOCU) while working to learn as much as possible about markets in general. Beat the S&P 500 every year since 2015 except 2022.

During the pandemic, Brio provided COVID-19 testing to organizations of any size-- with on-site medical supervision, sample collection, test kit logistics, and industry-leading turnaround. We helped unlock additional testing capacity by integrating with specialty labs (bringing new PCR machines on-line). 3-month engagement to assist scaling through a rapid growth phase. A couple weeks after joining, I rewrote the backend job system + business logic in a weekend, moving to a Redis-backed job queue (python-rq) with graceful failure-handling and retry, and a dashboard. Wrote a lot of code to integrate with partner Laboratory Information Management Systems. Full stack-- Python, AWS, Javascript, SQLAlchemy, Tailwind CSS.

1st FTE, leading technical hiring & product development, reporting directly to our cofounders (CEO/COO).Mostly recruiting/interviewing engineers and building our product + team + culture. UX design, research, and PM work before we landed some oustanding hires in those roles. Joined just before we entered Techstars Boston (summer '15), incredibly privileged to learn from some of the amazing MDs and mentors in that program, including Boston VCs/angels and engineering managers at Meta, Amazon, and local high-growth startups. During my tenure, we grew from 3 to 16 FTEs and over $1mm in ARR. Promoted from Lead Engineer. Ruby on Rails, Ember.js, React, PostCSS, PostgreSQL. High-stakes data modeling at the birth of an app. Tons of API integrations (better to buy than build), fully configurable email & SMS flows. Did a lot with a tiny team. Couldn't have asked for a more profound early-career growth opportunity. Most important, we built a sustainable business that's reliably demonstrated a positive impact on academic persistence, which has long-term implications for our mentees' lifetime earnings and quality of life.

Built and shipped highly usable clinical workflows for physicians. Worked directly with designers and PMs on physician orders (lab tests, medications, vaccinations, referrals) in the new streamlined version of athenaClinicals. Javascript, Perl, CSS, SQL, including full stack performance work.
