I continued a previously established study that involved researching the Eurasian Watermilfoil infestation in Lake Cochituate in Framingham, MA. More specifically, I studied the effects of SolarBee machines on the Eurasian Milfoil by performing water quality sampling and creating GIS plant density plots based on density observations. I was included as an author on the published study (available through the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation).This experience increased both my field skills and my technical writing abilities. Additionally, by working on this study and subsequent presentations, I was able to increase my knowledge of the politics associated with many environmental issues while, at the same time, hone my public communication abilities.

I calculated measurements for new, green housing development and collaborated with project managers on green construction projects. I also observed site visits and restoration consultations. This internship provided me with some of my first "hands-on" business experience.
