About Marisol Bello

I come from a Caribbean family of colorful storytellers who fueled my passion for stories at an early age. I love stories. They shape how we feel, think and act. That's why I spend my days leading a team of creatives who tell stories that move people to action. Our work at the Housing Narrative Lab is to move people to support housing solutions that make our communities strong, vibrant and healthy. We do that through:- Narrative research: We conduct evidence-based research into how people think and feel about housing, homelessness and the conditions that affect if someone has safe, stable housing - health and well-being, community investment, access to good-paying jobs and government resources. The research guides the narrative and messaging strategies we develop for our partners so they reach key audiences and move them to action.- Education and training: We train on effective ways to implement narrative strategies into their work. That includes everyone from grassroots groups, national advocates and service providers to housing developers, government officials and journalists.- Implementation: We develop strategies and create content to advance narratives that show housing is foundational to ensuring we all have what we need to thrive. - Coalition/Collaboration: Our motto is Everyone. Everywhere. All the time. We bring people together - across all sectors - to tell shared narratives about home. The more we tell these stories, repeatedly and consistently, the more we advance transformational narratives.Away from work, I can be found on a tennis court or hiking and scrambling over rocky mountains with my family and our pandemic puppy.
