As a highly trained medicate advocate I provided 24 hours of on-call service and in-person crisis support to survivors of sexual assault and abuse at 14 Chicago area hospitals. I was also a community leader and collaborated with social service agencies and law enforcement to improve victim services. I spearheaded & conducted sexual assault protocol training to nursing and emergency room staff for those same hospitals, and recruited, and conducted crisis intervention/medical advocacy training to over 20 volunteers.I secured payment of medical services for over 40 sexual assault survivors by informing hospitals regarding the Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency Treatment Act (SASETA).
