Over the last four years at Lourdes University, I have developed many skills participating in clinical rotations including medical/surgical, mental health and geriatrics. While participating in medical/surgical clinical rotations I realized my passion is providing care to our diverse patients with more complex issues and comorbidities, in order to help them achieve a successful outcome. I have provided care to Spanish speaking patients, speaking their native language, providing therapeutic communication and helping them achieve their best outcome.Therapeutic communication with patients and staff has been proven through my educational and work histories. In addition, throughout my time in healthcare my prioritizing abilities have continued to grow stronger through using nursing care frameworks. I possess the strong assessment skills that are critical in determining and intervening at even slight changes in patients’ conditions. My ability to time manage and multitask, along with my bilingual skills are also key elements that would help me contribute to my future goals.
