During my Masters degree program, I was a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Computer Science department at WPI. I have previously been a TA for:Software Engineering (2020 D term quarter, Spring semester)Database Systems I (2020 C term quarter, Spring semester)Social Implications (2019 B term quarter, Fall semester)Database Systems I (2019 A term quarter, Fall semester)Software Engineering (2019 C& D term quarters, Spring semester)Computer Networks (2018 A & B term quarters, Fall semester)As a teaching assistant, I have given lectures, explained concepts and course material, held office hours, created solutions to assignments, and graded assignments and exams. Depending on the course, I normally work with other TA's and undergraduate Student Assistants (SA), though I have also had to work alone as well.

Throughout my internship, I continually assisted in completing tickets/bug reports on a Scrum team using Agile methodologies. One of my projects involved updating the format of a test data page by modifying and creating Python scripts to pull down test data from the different services the company uses, including Jenkins, Github, and Gitlab. Another project had me researching compatibility with an outside company's software to potentially integrate with Carbon Black's own. During the internship, I had to set up a local debugging/development environment for one of their products in order to further assist my Scrum team. While going through the set up process, I noticed the method and time it took was very inefficient and complicated. By the time I had a working environment, it had been about 2 weeks since I started setting it up, and it involved many long meetings with my other team members. I decided to try to improve the way the environment would get set up and make it more efficient. I developed some shell scripts to do this, and by the end of my internship, I had achieved a mainly "hands-off" set up time of about 30 minutes. This saved the company 99.4% in time productivity for this action.

Responsibilities included leading various assigned projects, managing and supervising two high school interns, and traveling to Chicago with a senior level engineer to complete acceptance testing of new automation being designed by a contracted company, DevLinks.In a few of the projects, I continued to develop the layouts I previously created when I was an intern for ITW over my winter break. This time I used AutoCAD LT to relocate our Injection Molding Machines on all production floors. This was in order to accommodate new machines and automation being brought into the facility.In other projects, I researched and developed recommendations for future automation to incorporate with the current machinery.

While employed for approximately two weeks of my winter break, I used AutoCAD Mechanical to provide solutions to the layout of the main production floor for a new line of automation. I was also able to work closely with a team of senior engineers in resolving several project issues.

My main project focused on working with a senior engineer to incorporate and build a new function to the web application on one of the fire panels. The skills and languages I used included using SSH to access the panel, and JavaScript, C, and some HTML&CSS to program the application. This project was continued by my co-worker after I left, and went on into production.

Over the course of four weeks during my winter break, I assisted with the Women In Technology (WIT) chapter at Tyco. I performed coding reviews of the work of one of the groups, and created a local web testing environment for the team to debug their programs in with a connection to the fire panels.

Over the summer, I collaborated with senior engineers on an R&D team to research establishing Bluetooth connections to fire panels. I began by revising and co-writing a Service Guide & Maintenance Document (SGMD) on how to set up the development environment for the fire panel I was testing on. I initially tested a Bluetooth connection to a Raspberry Pi 3b to further understand how the connection could be established/replicated on the panel. I developed my work on a CentOS system to connect to the panel, access the kernel and program any scripts. Languages used consisted of mainly C, and some C++. By the end of my internship, I achieved functioning Bluetooth to the fire panel.
