Manages a portfolio of research contracts by providing routine project management and correspondence with research times, milestone supervision, and scientific oversight in studies focusing on older adults, health education, care coordination, tobacco cessation, chronic disease management, telehealth, healthcare worker burnout, and COVID-19. Participates in all pre-award and contract execution processes, including reviewing letters of intent, attending Merit Review panels, discussing applications on the slate for awards, milestone development, and communicating consistently with awardees. Serves as the lead Program Associate for the Older Adult Working Group charged with identifying, developing and implementing strategies for internal and external communication about PCORI’s framework, portfolio, funding announcements and planned activities surrounding the topic theme of promoting the health of older adults.

Worked on the clinical operations team, as an intricate part of the care management team, to drive health behavior change in vulnerable populations. Conducted comprehensive assessments to identify and address patient needs. Effectively educated, motivated, and supported patients in pursuing behavior and lifestyle changes to improve health status and quality of life.

Worked with the Risk Adjustment and Quality team, utilizing a variety outreach strategies, primarily telephonic, to reach and engage at-risk populations in various services and programs to improve overall health.

Worked with the population health team and in collaboration with the clinical team to identify patient needs, support patient engagement, and link patients with the appropriate level of support in the community. By conducting comprehensive screening activities with patients to identify and address gaps in care and barriers associated with access and self-management, I effectively motivated and supported patients in pursuing behavior and lifestyle changes to improve health status and quality of life.

Served on a research team with Benedictine University, partnering with community organizations, to develop, implement, and evaluate an educational program aimed at helping minority women foster healthy relationships with food and physical activity. Effectively prepared educational challenge activities for the program, conducted research for other possible target populations, and currently designing and populating a website for participants to use as an additional educational tool.

Worked with the district epidemiologist to conduct needs assessments, study and analyze data and statistics, and create evaluation methods to address epidemiological dilemmas in the district.
