After leaving my previous bartending job at Average Joe's, Rock Lobster and Mineshaft, I was asked by my previous employer, Naked Tchopstix, to return. Upon my return, I filled a bartending position with the understanding that I would leave when school started back up in the fall. When needed, I picked up shifts serving.

After five months of waitressing, I began to work behind the bars and consistently rotated around the three bars. When waitressing at Average Joe’s, I worked with the bartenders and kitchen to best serve customers dining at tables. When bartending, I managed money, worked alone and worked with other bartenders to create a fun and entertaining atmosphere.

I managed student emails, graded quizzes, organized homework responses to later be presented in powerpoint presentations, held study groups for exams and taught a class to use SPSS while the professor was presenting at a conference out of town. This was a scholarship position.

I designed and sent out informational packets to patients and doctors, wrote press releases and CEO newsletters, edited and visually improved documents and brochures, and created sponsor and annual reports. I also contributed to the rebranding of the Indiana chapter and worked with Kintera.

After one year of service, I was asked by the owners to help their daughter open Pandaology, an Asian themed boutique in Broad Ripple. I trained new employees and managed money at both stores. I was a trusted key-holder at Pandaology, regularly opening and closing the store while managing myself.

I was trusted to problem solve with customers and lent a helping hand whenever needed. I left when I moved downtown to begin school at IUPUI.

After two years of service, the owner sold the franchise; I decided to leave soon after as well. He asked me to babysit his two sons for the next two summers.
