About Marissa Kelley
Hello! From project management to outdoor education to dance, I‘ve always been an active person! Throughout my life and academic experience, I’ve been engaged in numerous projects and activities, all of which have provided me with a diverse skill set and the opportunity to learn more about myself and the many environments I've been part of.Collaborating and working with others empowers me! I am the founder of CU Boulder Milana, Colorado's first and only South Asian fusion dance team where I educated and managed 30+ dancers in routines consisting of various Western and South Asian dance styles. As captain, I led the team to their first-ever competition in Los Angeles, CA in 2024. I am also a company dancer and teacher at Mudra Dance Studio. I perform throughout the state and teach students Indian dance in preparation for our annual showcase each May. Lately, my summers have involved numerous weekends of volunteering with Heritage Camps for Adopted Families (HCAF). In this role, I become a racial and cultural mirror for adoptees as well as a mentor who can provide guidance and wisdom about the adoption experience. These experiences continue to be incredibly enriching to me as I share my energy, optimism, and knowledge while learning from each individual’s different perspectives, ethics, morals, and culture.During my free time, I love listening to weirdly named Spotify playlists, learning new languages, traveling, trying new styles of dance, and exploring the outdoors via sea kayak, skis, or hiking boots. As a very social person, I love meeting new people and making new connections. I always try to be communicative, motivational, organized, and hard-working with the aim of making a real impact on what I do. I thrive in high-paced social work environments and have a blast learning diverse skills and hope to continue developing new ones that I can apply in the professional world!
