Hi! I am Marissa Ortega and I am a front-end web developer. I have a passion for learning and continually expanding my knowledge and web development skill set.After graduating from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor's degree in Advertising, I started work as an escrow officer where I was able to hone my customer service, time management, organization, and creative skills. Above all else, I learned the art of fluidity and wearing many hats in a fast‐paced environment where accounts cannot be relinquished and customer service cannot be compromised.After seeking opportunities outside of real estate, I started my employment at Saddleback Church as an administrative assistant for the Communications Team. It’s there that I have continued to grow in my administrative, customer service, and communication skills. It’s also the place that introduced me to web development. Working on the Communications Team allowed me to interact with web designers and developers, and it was through these interactions that my interest in web development was piqued. I began to go through front-end web development courses on Team Treehouse and Udemy and realized that I truly have a passion for web development; I also quickly learned that I craved a teaching environment with more structure and coaching. This led me to the accelerated web development program at LearningFuze.At LearningFuze I spent 20+ hours per week coding in a simulated work environment. I was able to work on projects that reinforced the coding languages we learned and it taught me how to adapt the skills I obtained in my previous positions to become a more effective and efficient developer.
