Assisted in drafting an amicus brief for the District of Montana in support of the State of New Mexico and its challenge against the Department of Interior and its federal coal leasing program. Assisted with research for comments on the proposed repeal of the Clean Power Plan.

Reviewed and proofread a report on federal coal leasing reforms being prepared for a conference with the Department of Interior. Attended the conference and wrote a report summarizing the panelists’ recommendations. Aided with preparation of D.C. Circuit amicus brief filed in support of Environmental Protection Agency.

Assisted with event and program creation, planning, and execution – predominantly climate-science education workshops – for this environmentally focused nonprofit. Workshops were offered to the general public, with specialized sessions developed for local elected officials, teachers, and youth programs. Worked closely with local universities. Organized and implemented communication, marketing, and public relations efforts. Duties included all of the email campaigns, social media, website maintenance, and the creation of an Annual Report.

Selected for 10-month AmeriCorps apprenticeship with Public Allies Miami. In addition to building professional development skills, worked predominantly with The CLEO Institute.

Edited business, culture, foreign, and national stories for The New York Times wire service, which required editing approximately 20 articles a day, and following through on developing stories as they were updated. Organized and tracked the editing status of more than 150 stories on a daily basis for news service wire clients.
