As the PGY-1 resident, I participated in the following rotations throughout the year: internal medicine I, internal medicine II, infectious disease, emergency medicine, transitions of care I, critical care, inpatient cardiology, outpatient cardiology transitions of care II, and nutritional diabetes management. I was also responsible for staffing in the Coumadin Clinic and in-patient pharmacy periodically. I also presented multiple journal clubs, patient cases, and topic discussions to pharmacy staff and students. I was also responsible for maintaining updated pharmacy clinical documents, including renal dosing guide, therapeutic substitutions, and the IV drug dosing guide. I also had a research project throughout the year regarding the implementation of a hypoglycemia management protocol and to promote proper management and prevent recurrent hypoglycemia. My research was presented at a local Fall meeting, Midyear clinical meeting, and a local Spring meeting as well. As a resident I also responded to stroke alerts, rapid responses, trauma alerts, and code blues.
