Environmental Engineer
CurrentConducted field work including monitoring well development; groundwater sampling using low-flow techniques; soil sampling from hollow stem augers, push-probe borings, and mass excavation construction projects; indoor air sampling; and sub-slab soil vapor sampling.Conducted and managed several Phase I environmental site assessments in accordance with ASTM and AAI standards, including reviewing historical documents and regulatory agency database and files, conducting site reconnaissances and interviews, and summarizing the information in a written report.Conducted Phase II environmental site assessments to assess soil, groundwater, and soil vapor conditions, which include coordination with the laboratory; writing a site-specific health and safety plan; field screening soil for headspace volatiles, sheen, odor, and staining; collecting soil and groundwater samples for chemical analysis; reviewing, validating, and interpreting chemical analytical data; and documenting findings in a report.Worked with developers on several large construction sites in Seattle to manage impacted soil during mass excavation. Prior to construction, I have written cleanup action plans and construction contingency plans, made recommendations for soil disposal facilities and assisted with waste profiles, and estimated the cost and volumes for impacted soil removal. During construction, I have collected characterization and verification soil samples, coordinated for decommissioning and removal of USTs, and conducted UST site assessments. After mass excavation, I have written construction completion reports to summarize environmental construction activities and applied to the Department of Ecology's voluntary cleanup program in pursuit of a no further action.
