Profile bio

About Marissa Levitt

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Hartford in 2018 where I studied Psychology and Communications. While in school I co-created the HawkTorah blog and podcast, an educational tool to help young adults connect with the ancient teachings of the Torah and relate it to their everyday life through pop culture references and life lessons. The podcast is no longer being created, but I still collaborate with my partner to create weekly blog posts. Since graduating, my partner and I embarked on an independent endeavor and created a new blog, ModPop Torah.I have extensive experience working with children in recreational and educational settings. I have gained this experience while working at a summer camp, after school program, and religious school. This experience has taught me many things including how to think on my toes, look for different solutions to problems, and to be comfortable in my own skin.In addition to this, I have many other skills including, research, Microsoft Ofice, public speaking, leadership, and creative writing. I have a strong sense of community and find ways to get involved wherever I am. I am passionate about equality, diversity, and inclusion. I would love to find myself working in a position where I feel like I am making a difference and a positive impact.

Listed skills include Creativity Skills, Leadership, Public Speaking, Social Media, and 30 others.

Religious School Teacher And Service Coordinator

Temple Emanuel Sinai

Worcester, Ma, Us

Clinical Admissions Assistant

Worcester, Massachusetts, United States

One of the main responsibilities of my job is to assist in the management of the waitlists for our outpatient, in-home therapy, therapeutic mentoring, and intensive care coordinator services. Every morning, I review and screen the referrals we received through our online form to see if we would be a match for services. If we are not, I reach out to direct them to a different external provider in the community who may be able to better assist them. If we are a match for services, I enter the client into our electronic medical records system and add them to our waitlist. The same goes for any internal referrals our providers would like to place for additional services for their clients. This has given me experience reviewing and understanding insurance coverage for behavioral health services.I also assist in the analysis of data we have collected. I review data collected from sources such as Survey Monkey and reformat it into easy-to-read charts and graphs so the organization can get a better understanding of any trends we find. This helps with planning for services to make sure we can help as many families as possible. My position also acts as backup coverage for our front desk staff. While at the front desk, I answer the phone and assist with any inquiries the caller has regarding services for current or potential clients, as well as guide them to the correct affiliate or external organization if they are looking for a service we do not offer. I also greet our clients, check them in, take co-pays, and complete administrative intakes, as well as assist in any other administrative tasks that may come up.

Religious School Teacher & Service Coordinator

Temple Emanuel Sinai

Worcester, Massachusetts

I have held multiple roles while working at Temple Emanuel Sinai's religious school. This year, I taught our Kindergarten/1st grade class and will do so again next year. I focus on building a foundation of community and friendship amongst the class as the students are introduced to Jewish holidays, values, and the Hebrew alphabet. We learn through a combination of workbooks, games, and crafts. I also assist with leading our Saturday morning services. One of my main responsibilities is to run the slide show of our prayers and songs so everyone can follow along. I will also step in and lead the services myself when our cantor, who normally leads them, is out. During the service, I also teach the children about the weekly Torah portion in an engaging manner by encouraging them to ask and answer questions. During previous years, I have worked with all our grades, K-7, as a solo teacher, as an assistant teacher, or filling in when their teacher is out. In addition, I have worked as a one-on-one aide with students who need a bit more help and guidance with their Hebrew. I helped them learn the Hebrew alphabet and build their confidence so they can continue to learn more complex subjects such as the prayers. I was also the service coordinator for the school's Saturday morning services. I worked with a group of 2-4 students to coordinate parts and guide them as they lead Saturday morning services in front of their peers, parents, and teachers.
