I'm a economics and public policy professional with over 25 years of experience in trade, investment and private sector development, and a passion for the role of policy in addressing environment and climate issues. I have extensive experience working on responsible and sustainable business and foreign direct investment in the UN in Asia, including broad knowledge about the intersection between climate change and policy.Since September 2021 I am working for the Economic Cooperation and Trade Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), heading the work on Agricultural Quality Standards. I have written on trade, investment and climate change, organized a number of conferences, intergovernmental and expert meetings, co-designed and started up big extrabudgetary projects (1.5 MUSD and 11 MUSD), and managed ESCAPs business network. Prior to joining the UN in 2003, I worked as an economic analyst on issues related to competitiveness, structural change, and public support to industry for a governmental agency under the Ministry of Industry (3 years), and on marketing and communications in the private sector (4 years).
