Recruited through the National Competitive Exam of the UN, and joined the Investment and enterprise development section, Trade and Investment Division of ESCAP. - Published two articles on FDI and Trade Agreements in Asia and the Pacific; - Organized a workshop on Improvement of the Investment Climate in the Western Region of China, securing partnership and co-funding from the World Bank.; - Assisted in successfully organizing three major business conferences - the Asia-Pacific Business Forum 2005, 2006 and 2007; - Responsible officer for the UNESCAP Business Advisory Council - Designed and started up a 1.5 MUSD project called "Investors 4 Development" to promote the implementations of the principles of the UN Global Compact in Asia, including budgeting, strategy, creation of posts, and hiring of project staff; and Designed and started up a project focusing on value chain integration of SMEs in the Greater Mekong Subregion (520,000 USD); - Focal point for gender mainstreaming and programme monitoring.
