Course instructor for "Forskerfabrikken" (the Scientist Factory), who organises a summer school in natural sciences for children 9-11 years old.

Research project on surface characterisation of bacteria, biofilms and metal-organic frameworks by near-ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (NAP-XPS). The project was conducted in cooperation with SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH and within the framework of the Horizon 2020 European metrology project (EURAMET) ”MetVBadBUgs: Quantitative measurement and imaging of drug uptake by bacteria with antimicrobial resistance”. Sample preparation protocols were developed for NAP-XPS analysis of bacteria and biofilms. Supplementary investigations were performed in ultra-high vacuum by lab-based and synchrotron-based XPS and high energy XPS (HAXPES).

Work exchange for young professionals organised by Norec (the former Norwegian Peace Corps). I was employed by GenØk in Norway, but worked as a visiting researcher at the North West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The research group lead by Dr. Carlos Bezuidenhout specialised in environmental microbiology. Work tasks included water sampling, in situ measurement of physical and chemical properties, microbial analysis and identification of antibiotic resistant genes from bacteria found in water. Methods included antibiotic disk diffusion tests, DNA-isolation, PCR and DNA-sequencing.

As a student assistant in "The Physics Track" I guided groups of 11 year old children through a track consisting of simple physics experiements.

As a summer intern, I worked with a scientific project for six weeks. I took measurements in the production hall, analysed the results as well as making theoretical models. The project was finalised with a report and a presentation of the results.

The work included security responsibility for the clients and providing knowledge about geology and history related to the glacier.

I participated in regular shift work during the summer at the cast division of the aluminium factory.

For two semesters, I tutored students in general chemistry.
