I currently perform general clerical functions and maintain production and control records.Handle and process issues with claims, direct contact with physicians, hospitals and work with the claims department for any and all claims related questions. Provide training/tools to less experienced, new data entry staff. Manage and process job requests and route slips from outside vendors and maintain data and information into various database programs. Compare data with source documents and/or re-enter data in verification format to detect errors. Work with and handle items with the Provider Relations department that have to do with Contracts with all Providers and Hospitals. Assist in maintaining the Epic/Cclink Provider Portal for the Health PlanEnter pertinent administrative data including medical, pharmacy and insurance claims into the medical software system and ensure accurate and complete. Update and send reports to Auditors and IRS daily. Assist in credentialing vendors and providers. I started with the county as an Account Clerk Temp in the Care Management Department and then was promoted to Typist Clerk in Utilization Review. As a Typist Clerk I did heavy data entry into 4 data bases, handled and researched all insurance information including Medi-Cal, ran eligibility, Medicare, private insurance, handled information with the contract hospitals, 4-C (Psychiatric Ward), charts that came in to make sure they were processed in a timely manner, filed, copied, faxed, emailed, handled information for consumers from 4-C like TARS, inpatient doctor claims, handled Tars and UB-04’s from the contact hospitals so the nurses could review to approved, defer or deny, faxed tars to State of California daily and faxed tars plus UB-04’s to the hospitals, created spreadsheets, worked with PSP, E2 Search, MS Access data bases, EPIC, Lotus Notes, Netpro, iNotes, MS Excel and MS Word.
