About Maritza Salinas
I am an aspiring geographic information systems specialist/technician. I currently have 4 total years of experience (1 as a paid GIS intern, 1 as GIS technician, 2 while earning my BS in GIS/masters).I have created 3 web map applications through ArcGIS Online platforms. My COVID-19 web map was published to the CSBR's website back in 2020. A web map I created during my GIS internship for the IWRC for Green Certified Breweries was used to showcase these breweries. A project during my undergrad titled, Green Cedar Valley, was created to make recycling locations and voting information easier to access. So far, I’ve created 2 project dashboards for Geocomm.My proudest moment is when UNI President Mark Nook acknowledged me during his 2020 Fall Address. I look forward to growing in my skills and learning more about how GIS can be used to create a better place and to make better business decisions.
