About Maritza Soto, Ph.D.
I’m seeking a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern position. I am the perfect fit for this role in your establishment because I have 10+ years of experience in the Mental Health field working with children, adolescents, and Adults. Additionally, I have qualitative and quantitative research experience on topics regarding Mental Health, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Intimate Partner Violence, Mother's sensitive to touch and Employees with Mental Health Disabilities. The research and leadership skills I acquired in the field of education included the Department of Psychology at Florida A&M University. I assisted teaching statistics at the graduate course, and the undergraduate course level. Later, I obtained teaching positions for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the private sector in Career, Research and Development. Soon after, I transitioned to work for the Adult Education Department to create a career ready teacher guide that reflected the workforce, college, and vocational track for the Spanish speaking population. I have experience serving as a School Counselor for middle and High School. Much of my role involved educating students of the different career paths, counseling, conducting behavioral assessments, facilitating monthly parent workshops regarding topics related to managing a teen and parenting, among other roles.
