Sustainability Lab is an exploratory space developed by atomcamp. We work at the intersection of climate change, data and AI.

Working on Bicycling Lane Plan for Islamabad with CDA, solid waste management projects and urban green infrastructure projects in multiple cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The fellowship was offered in partnership with Gehl. I was trained to use the Gehl Public Life Tools to evaluate the impact of community events and art installations in improving the quality of public space and civic life. I collected data on-site at 3 installations co-produced by Van Alen Institute in NYC.

I conducted an advocacy project on the issue of placard abuse in NYC, under the mentorship of the Open Plans team. The project involved researching the history of the issue and the placard program, conducting field observations, and drafting policy recommendations. It culminated in a report and a presentation to urban advocates in NYC, aiming to curb placard abuse and discourage driving culture among city employees.

I performed an 'Existing Conditions Analysis' for a Department of Transportation (DOT) project on micro mobility. I analyzed six sites in Manhattan and Brooklyn slated to become 'formalized curbside spaces for micro mobility delivery workers'. The research involved field observations, behavior mapping, community engagement, an analysis of existing conditions. Research findings were presented to the team at Street Furniture Unit.

I worked on a research project commissioned by the British Council. The project titled ‘Mapping Arts and Artisans in Pakistan’ explored the socio-economic landscape of the creative hubs found in 12 cities in Pakistan. As the research associate for the project my responsibilities included:- Collecting, transcribing and organizing notes from field research- Contributing to the final report in describing the creative landscapes of various cities - Suggesting policy interventions for their improvement- Developing storyboards for the project website and for the interactive maps of artisan hubs
