Software EngineerChatyat Inc. Nov 2006 - Nov 2007o As part of a 3 man team, we brought a mobile based IM service to market (ChatYat) using c#, Sql 2005 and J2ME. o I was lead on all the back-end related services. This included having globally distributed redundant services to handle all chat streams and a central redundant repository to deal with every day membership, billing, rebates and SMS. o Communications between mobile device and chat services used sockets with either TCP or HTTP. All communications between chat services and central repository services used TCP binary remoting channels encrypted with private asymmetric keys. o Being in such a distributed environment, multi-threaded asynchronous processing was preferred. o The solution also provided for fail-over in case one of the services went offline. To keep the redundant databases synchronized, we designed a replication solution at the entity level using aspect programming that would distribute the data to all required services. o VS Team System enabled us to follow strict standards and guidelines and did regression testing making extensive use of test cases.

Application ArchitectIncharge Institute Jan 2003 - Apr 2006o Designed and implemented an n-tier component/service orientated solution making use of context boundaries (transaction monitoring), reflection, remoting and aspect oriented programming (AOP). This involved developing a sound framework that would support the enterprise component model taking care of standards, transaction monitoring, caching, notification and database communication. The solution was extensible and allowed easy integration of other supporting enterprise services.o I made extensive use of UML and Rational XDE for design and documentation throughout the lifecycle of the solution. o Having a business and service layer allowed both web and rich clients to utilize the same code base, thus cutting development and maintenance time in half and reducing startup efforts for new projects. o As part of the extensibility model, I implemented a service orientated solution that did B2B real time data exchange with partner companies using remoting and sockets. o As part of a team, we implemented programming standards, guideline procedures around component orientated development, automated testing and peer reviews. o As the architect, I was responsible to R&D future technologies and make decisions for incorporating these technologies into the enterprise services solution and continuously provided technical assistance to my peers.o The company continuously does software audits and found the new framework a vast improvement of the previous 2-tiered solution. -
