It was a challenge for me to work in this big project as a production engineer (concretes, asphalts, asphalt emulsions, rock crushing and quarry) because it is considered one of the biggest concessions of the country, with a budget of 350 million US dollar for rehabilitating and improving almost 1000 km of roads through Panamá and Venezuela crossing the Caribbean coast line of Colombia and several states (Via de las Americas) and I worked together with many people with work experience from different professional branches.As a production engineer, one of my goals was to have availability of needed material to build pavement structures and waterworks. Because of the big quantity required, it was necessary to work with great capacity machines and technical staff.Within the responsibilities I had as head of production in this big project were to manage and control different processes of manufacturing to get the best quality and efficiency. During a long time, when the project required it, it was necessary to work 24 hours per day and the staff I was leading was between 40 – 50 people.One of the most important branches in a construction project is the production process, for this reason, we got the support from different professionals in the company who worked together to make a great multi-disciplinary team to get the expected progress (industrial security, quality, social, environmental, budget, mechanical, etc).Because the constructive advances were better than expected, the company had a strong growth during 2014-2015.

With Atland Global, a company from Spain with a branch in Equatorial Guinea I had the opportunity to work as an engineer auditor in a different country, auditing engineering international companies from Israel, Serbia and Spain to the Country Government.Equatorial Guinea has had a big progress in infrastructure in the last 15 years and they are building important projects for developing the country.Works were controlled to ensure compliance of the project contract as administrative, construction progress, quality of materials and construction processes.Because Guinea Equatorial did not have official standards of quality, it was necessary to use standards from Spain, America, France and UK to control the project features.As an engineer auditor in several projects I planned several meeting to talk about the whole project, progress, problems to guarantee the right execution of projects and to know diverse point of view from the government, contractor and auditor. Different languages and cultural interchange were part of this exciting experience.All information about the projects audited for us were reported directly to the highest branch in Infrastructure of the government of Equatorial Guinea.

After my Major degree studies in roads Geotechnics and pavements in Bogotá, I had my first experience leading a small group but in a big project as it was the asphalt production and crushing rocks for the maintenance phase for one of the best and main highways in the country between the Valle del Cauca state and Risaralda State in Colombia.Almost for two year I was lead of the production branch in Pereira (Risaralda) when the main office of the company was in Cali (Valle del Cauca).As a chief in production I had the responsibility of managing machinery, staff, budget, security, quality and mainly manufacturing material for the project involving all processes of production and quality.During this lap of time we were the biggest company in asphalt production in the region.

As a project engineer in Infracon S.A. I had the responsibility to managed financial information from several engineering project concessions which were managed for the company. Infracon S.A. is partner of the biggest engineering Company in Colombia and they create, structure, develop and do engineering projects. Financial modeling, managing loans and giving support in structuring new projects were my main duty.

I worked as a project engineer in H&F Engineering Services when I finished studies in the university and I started to study a post degree in Geotenich and road pavements. The company focused its works in giving consulting to bigger engineering companies who made project around Colombia. Mainly, my job consisted in making designs with preliminary information to structure engineering projects and taking part in new offers. Also, I prepared several designs for smaller local projects.
