I am an Electronics Engineer (M. Eng.) with 26 years experience in the military field and systems such as remote weapon stations and turrets, stabilized electro-optical sights, fire control and directing systems, gun drives (servo systems), fire control computers, radio telescopes and all the related subsystems to make these systems work such as gyros, position sensors, gearboxes, motors, power systems, optics, cameras, video trackers, displays, harnesses, communication etc.Can do both high level Systems Engineering and detail work. Has been the Systems Engineer of various complex multi discipline systems such as sights and turrets that went into production. Knows the design processes from concept, detail design, to functional and environmental qualification and production according to military standards e.g. DO-178, DO-254, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-1275.Has done the control systems for various servo system; motors, gearboxes, electronics, algorithm design, simulation and implementation in software. Has experience in doing detail embedded system design down to PCB level. Knows the importance and pitfalls of EMI / EMC and the thermal aspects related to embedded designs for military requirements. Has detail design and system level experience in specific systems such as Power and Power Distribution Systems, Fire Safety Circuits, MMIs, Video Auto Trackers, Control Electronics for Sighting Systems, Video for Sight Systems, FPGA embedded systems, Ballistics Calculation etc. Hands-on knowledge of EMI/EMC and has extensive experience in getting these qualified to MIL-STD-461.Has management experience and were the Electrical / Electronic Engineering Manager at BAE Dynamics in South Africa for three years before moving to the UAE. Managed people (engineers and technicians) and were responsible for all the electrical and electronics systems and subsystems while still continue doing Systems Engineering and detail work.Has experience in business development and wrote proposals and contracts and was responsible to secure multi-million-dollar contracts when working at IGG.
