About Marius Malaia

Experienced network engineer with a passion for automation and optimization of IP networks and more.I am a network automation enthusiast with 15 years of telecom experience - most of them within service providers, with quite a bit of system administration (Linux) experience and a passion for scripting and coding. Throughout my experience I have been involved in designing new solutions, operating smaller or larger networks, working at times independently or in a team. I have a programming background, as I have studied computer science during high school and I have been using programming and scripting frequently during my career. I have written provisioning tools (for RAN provisioning), GUI interfaces for interacting with the network (part of a DDoS tool, or PPPoE administration in a Linux BNG cluster) or other useful tools. I have been using automation tools (Ansible and Cisco NSO) to provision new network services and complete network elements. I have also been contributing to open source projects (IPAMs mainly), either with code or with advice.I also follow up on new technologies like SDN, Segment Routing, NFV, NETCONF / YANG, OpenStack and their potential uses. I am also passionate about good network monitoring, with modern tools, use of telemetry, compound metrics with flexible queries and good visual representations of the network state.
