Project: Orion – A Risk and P&L analysis and aggregation tool. (WPF 4.0, DevExpress)Orion is a reporting tool used by users from Rates, Exotics and Hybrids in front office, middle office and product control. Currently we are also taking the Flow business and the DCU desk on board. It provides:- Fast server-side slice and dice operations on very large data sets,- Management of workflow between Front, Middle Office and Product Control,- Flexible design to allow new reports and data sources to be quickly added,- High level of visibility linking data availability to report status.When I joined the Orion developers’ team, the Orion user interface was written in WinForms and CAB. Since then I have not only migrated existing functionalities to WPF and MEF, but also I have introduced many new features. I have been working closely with Orion users to recognise and gather any new requirements, necessary to implement the desired functionalities. To develop new graphical user interface I have used MVVM and TDD patterns. To ensure that the GUI, during long-running operations, is always responsive, I have also used task parallel library. Sales Logistic Management System consists of four parts. The first and the second parts are Web services. One of them is exposed to the Internet, the second one is exposed to the intranet. Both web services connect to the MSSQL2000 databases. The third part is a windows application, which is installed at the customers of the wholesale. They can view and order products from the wholesale. The application connects to the web service and puts the order or takes new data from the main server.
