Responsible for a team of business administrators which services ACTA (Academic Center of Dentistry Amsterdam). Goal is to improve interaction and coöperation with the customer on incident-, change- and projectmanagement. Being part of a team to set up a dedicated Expertise Center for Care, where technical, business- and system administrators are team players to support ACTA.Since the outbreak of Covid, working home for 11 months the challenge was and is how to keep your team motivated, bounded with each other and the University. How to interact with your customers and give the same level support as they were used to get. Now the new challenge is how to go to the transformation of our new culture. What will be our new culture and how will this reflect in cooperation, hybrid workspaces and new habits. Where does SAAS fits in and what are the challenges all together. The VU had to tender the Virtual Learning Environment. This tender was in corporation with the UvA. The result is Canvas. I was part of the team who wrote the business requirements for this tender and now I'm implementing the system. Together with the technical development team we implement Canvas where our Student Information System (SAP-SLM) and Human resource system (SAP-HR) are the sources for Canvas data (instructors, students and courses). The integration is by broker and API feed. There are also LTI integrations with TurnitIN, Kaltura, Mediasite and other applications. I also test the functionalities, write functional designs, advise the business, think about workarounds and solutions, work closely together with the technical architects and support the didactic team. The VU will start using Canvas at september 2017 with the new start of the academic year. Canvas will be used by approx. 30.000 students and 3500 employees.

Part of the team I'm responsible for the Virtual Learning Environment (Blackboard), the Plagiarism and Peer review Tool (TurnitIn) and the adaption software (Eesysoft) as functional system administrator. I'm the linking pin between the Educational business and the technical IT. I'm the first person in contact with the supplier. Solve functional problems, in lead with upgrades, member of contractual negotiations team, member of hiring committee, member of several huge projects. I'm also member of the IT Advise committee, who review all project plans University wide with an IT component in it. The advise committee advices the Project Advisory Board if the project can start or not.

With all the experience I got with implementing Canvas on the Vrije Universiteit, I am now placed at the UvA to help them with implementing Canvas to their University. My extra focus is on LTI-integrations for software like Testvision, Maple TA, Mediasite, FeedbackFruits, TurnitIN and Google. I write improvements on functionalities for these LTI's.
