Traveled to the Philippines, Honduras, Colombia and Ethiopia and wrote several stories about Operation Smile’s work through the eyes of patients and their families. Carefully curated stories for the organization's global website, blog and marketing materials. Developed messaging for Operation Smile’s global brand and circulate that content throughout international foundations and promote brand awareness. Responsible for the development and implementation of content and marketing strategy through the Annual Impact Report. Trained an international network of student volunteers and staff in storytelling from the field in an intensive workshop held biannually. Trained Operation Smile’s international foundations on brand consistency and brand differentiation to promote speaking with one global voice.

City government and general assignments reporter for the largest and most award-winning newspaper in Virginia. Investigated local and state politics by developing close sources and requesting public records. Routinely covered city budgets, elections, housing and economic development, and worked on long projects while writing daily breaking news stories. Uncovered a series of cost overruns on city projects using FOIA and document-based reporting while leading a team of reporters.

Reported on city governments in the Phoenix area covering budgets, economic development and human interest stories. Recipient of the Pulliam Fellowship and Chips Quinn Program for minority journalists.
