Leading the start-up company with 7 employees. During this time the I proceed with the development of CRISPR-based antivirals, engaged new investors, explored many kinds of funding possibilities such as an EIC Pathfinder grant, VC funding and national soft money and incubators.

Recent RNA virus outbreaks, like Ebola and Zika virus outbreaks, made us initiate a collaboration between the Helleday Laboratory and Public Health Center of Sweden to study highly pathogenic RNA viruses. We were exploring new host cell-virus interactions with the aim to discover new antiviral approaches by targeting host cell proteins that virus is depent on. Collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Sweden offers specific expertise in the field of infectious diseases and advanced technical facilities. Having an access to BSL-4 laboratories together with cutting-edge molecular biology resources of Science for Life Laboratory provided unique settings to study the life cycle of highly pathogenic RNA viruses in detail and an exciting environment for post-doctoral training.

A research coordinator of a national COVID-19 research program at SciLifeLab. My role was to coordinate 11 national COVID-19 related research projects, promote open science, reduce redundant work, organize a number of activities aiming to accelerate virus research and coordinate research projects at biosafety level 3 laboratory working with SARS-CoV-2.

A research coordinator of a research consortium called “Phenotypic drug discovery in human disease”. Here, my role was to promote collaboration and knowledge transfer between researchers and organize workshops, meetings and courses with the aim to improve drug discovery processes.
