The Urban Collaborative Project (UCP) is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that specializes in bringing Health, Education, Safety, and Art/Infrastructure services, highlighting the effects of Trauma and Resilience, to the community of Southeast San Diego. The goal of UCP is to provide free or low-cost services to underserved community members with the hope of creating a Self-Healing Community. As the Program Coordinator, I was responsible for a variety of administrative and program management tasks. I helped in planning and organizing programs and activities, such as the Health, Education, Safety, and Art Action Teams, which brought together like-minded nonprofits and community members to brainstorm solutions for thier community. I also helped design, coordinate, and co-create a Community Gathering Place, which pulled together artists, designers, landscapers, musicians, interactions with the City of San Diego development services, Civic San Diego, and most importantly the residents in the immediate area.
