Native of New Zealand, Mark presently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has an extensive career spanning more than 20 years in structural engineering. Mark's specialty is in providing quality engineering solutions for his clients, including seismic retrofits and providing responsive structural engineering services. Mark's list of completed projects includes more than 500 buildings and 29 bridges. His client base includes hospitals, schools, civic groups, and municipalities.Mark is involved in the most recent research and state-of-the-art technologies for both new and modernization programs. He is also currently involved with the national Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program Task Committee for foundation provision updates, and currently serving as the Chair of the Structural Engineers Association of California's (SEAOC) Evaluation Report Committee. Mark served for several years on the SEAOC Seismology and structural Standards Committee. More recently, Mark has assisted with a research project funded by National Science Foundation (NSF) at the UC Davis Center for Geotechnical Modeling.Presently, Mark is the Executive Principal for ZFA Structural Engineers and manages the San Francisco office, which is one of four ZFA offices in California. He has been with the firm for five years, and leads a team of professional engineers. Mark and his staff make significant contributions annually to charitable organizations in the Bay Area.Mark holds professional registrations in the states of California, Arizona, and Nevada. He is LEED certified and presently serves on various committees in the engineering field.
