Full Service Floor Covering Company50 Floor was founded in 2007 by owner, Jerel Verner, as a complete home design center, specializing not only in carpet and flooring but also custom kitchen and bath remodeling. In 2010 Jerel partnered with Matt Carter and together they re-branded the company to focus primarily on flooring. They also completely revamped the business model, dropping the traditional brick-and-mortar format for a more service oriented, shop-at-home business model. Later that year, 50 Floor took to the television airwaves. Starting with "Atlanta & Company", a live television show hosted by Christina Pullara, a marketing campaign begins that would later prove to be the winning formula that would make 50 Floor a household name. In 2011, 50 Floor acquired its first celebrity spokesperson, Jill Becker, who is a 30 year veteran of TV News and a 23 year new anchor for Atlanta's 11 Alive. With such a high profile spokesperson, 50 Floor was now able to expand their marketing across additional TV stations and for the first time started advertising on radio. Realizing they had something special, Jerel and Matt asked their longtime friend and flooring professional, Troy Tilton, to help take 50 Floor nationwide. In February of 2013, the Charlotte Market opened for business and had the proud distinction of being the first expansion market. Since the beginning, we have been lucky to have countless employees, sales representatives, flooring contractors and TV and radio affiliates dedicated to the success of 50 Floor. Although no one person can be attributed to our success, our success can be traced back to a single common denominator which is "the desire to be the best."
