I recently retired from Caterpillar Inc. after almost 40 years working in Product Marketing (New Product and Market Introductions) and with our Independent Cat Dealer Network in various rep and leadership roles. I had the opportunity to lead a team of Cat professionals that executed two major product launches for Caterpillar -- Compact Products within North America and subsequently Challenger MT Series Ag. Tractors globally. I had the privilege of leadership and executive leadership roles working directly with Caterpillar dealer owners in the development of their business and markets, execution of their annual business plans and stewardship of Caterpillar's relationship with and support of future Caterpillar dealer owners. I had two executive leadership roles in Marketing focused on Europe, AME, CIS markets. And in my last leadership role I had exposure and context of our Asia Pacific markets and dealers. I was in leadership positions for 22 of my 39 years so I feel I have good grasp of building and leading teams through many business cycles as well as organizational changes. I believe this experience can be valuable to young business executives learning the ropes of leadership, but through a coaching approach/lens.

Mark worked in Advertising, Marketing and Distribution leadership roles in a 40-year career with Caterpillar, a top 100 Construction and Mining Equipment company headquartered in Irving, TX. He has experienced the heights and lows of living the life of a career corporate professional with 19 different positions changes of increasing responsibility and 10 career-advancement-driven moves in the U.S. and overseas. He has held several leadership positions where he worked completely remote from his teams (even prior to covid) and has traveled extensively globally particularly in the last 20 years of his career. During this time, he led high-performing, global teams through clear, consistent and candid communication/feedback. And he also consistently received 90% and higher Employee survey positive scores for Engagement, Employee Experience and Recognition. A particular highlight, Mark has worked closely three different times in his career with the owners and leadership of Caterpillar’s independently owned Caterpillar dealers that average $1 billion in annual revenues. Mark’s brand within Caterpillar was as a humble, authentic, people-first leader that peers wanted to collaborate with and teams were inspired to work for. He relates well to people of all ages and experiences ad gets the most satisfaction helping new/developing leaders find their own solutions for leadership challenges through the Org. Coaching Practices taught by the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL) based in Sydney, AUS. Mark considers himself a corporate athlete with a discipline focus on physical and mental well-being. His focus on physical, mental and spiritual health has helped him deal with the pressures of corporate life.

I'm currently learning to become a Professional Coach. I am completing the first step of Level 1 Certification thru IECL (Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership) based in Sydney, Australia. After completing certification and planned completion of at least 100 coaching hours, I will continue to obtain Level 1 Accreditation and subsequently seek endorsement through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
