The reveal of Nintendo's "Revolution" in 2005 catalyzed a lifelong love of video games, art, and music. In the following years, I studied to be a programmer. I've now been making games professionally since 2014.

Game ProgrammerGraphite Lab May 2024 - PresentSt Louis, Missouri, United StatesRollerCoaster Tycoon Classic (Nintendo Switch) | May - Nov 2024Like many of you, I played the hell out of RollerCoaster Tycoon around the time of its original release. After playing the hell out of the game (again), I designed and implemented the gamepad controls within the proprietary C++ engine that Classic is built on. I also implemented all the new custom menus that are exclusive to the Switch version, changing things from the mockups provided to me as the need arose.Part of the menu work was writing a separate utility for generating bitmap fonts, mapping each rendered character's PNG to the correct file name expected by the engine. Our new font is used throughout the game. -

ProgrammerGraphite Lab Jan 2021 - Jul 2022St Louis, Missouri, United StatesAt Graphite Lab, I shipped "Bratz: Total Fashion Makeover" for mobile devices, and was the lead developer through the first prototype of Atari's "qomp2". On qomp2, I set up a foundation for the project, including a "Scriptable Object" architecture for designers to easily modify gameplay parameters. For the first deliverable prototype, implemented the one-button player controls for dashing and changing direction, and a raycast-based kinematic 2D movement control system. On Bratz, I built a custom Unity editor tool for our designers to author story content, and worked on general features, debugging, optimization, and updates post-release. -
