Dr Mark Akrofi is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow jointly affiliated with UNU-IAS and Kyoto University Graduate School of Energy Science, courtesy of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program. His research expertise lies at the intersection of energy policy, sustainability, and equitable energy transition. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles, delving into these topics, and conducted over 50 verified peer reviews for esteemed journals such as Nature Energy, Energy Policy, Energy Research & Social Science, and Science of the Total Environment. Beyond his scholarly pursuits, Mark is also passionate about fostering the development of young leaders, particularly in the realms of sustainability. He volunteers as a Commitment Mentor for the Clinton Global Initiative University, where he helps guide and inspire the next generation of leaders in creating sustainable solutions to global challenges.
