Mark has extensive experience within the Education Sector, as well as a unique set of complementary commercial experiences within the City of London, and the Not-for-Profit sector. A member of the education profession since 1996, and Curriculum Director of Business at CATS College Canterbury since 2010, he has a proven track record in strategic management; raising the quality of teaching and learning delivered by his team of teachers; improving student attainment and academic results; and successfully steering departmental colleagues through school inspections. As an outstanding classroom practitioner, and accomplished teacher in I.B. & A’ Level Economics, as well as the A’ Level & GCSE in Business Studies, he is proud to have helped place students into leading UK universities.Mark is passionate about delivering a holistic education in which students can fulfil their all-round potential. He fulfils this aim as Senior Tutor at CATS College, where he is responsible for the pastoral care management and academic progress of sixty five sixth form students. Prior to this, 2004 to 2008, he was a Housemaster in a co-educational Day House for Year 7 & 8 pupils at Dover College; where he was also Head of the Business and Economics department.During 2008 to 2010, Mark founded ‘Chillout ‘n’ Challenge’, a Social Enterprise delivering adventurous activities for young people. He established collaborative partnerships with Primary and Secondary Schools; Leisure Centres and Swimming Pools in Kent, registered charities; Kent, and Medway, County Councils Youth Offending Teams. Most notable achievements – encouraging young people to ‘step outside their comfort zone’; enrolling young people registered as N.E.E.T. (not in education, employment or training) onto full-time further education courses; creating jobs for young people within the local economy; & supporting leading county wide charity events.
