Mark Ankner is dedicated to developing and producing creator-driven stories that resonate with culture. Most recently, Mark produced PONYBOI, which premiered in the US Dramatic competition section at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, directed by Esteban Arango. This film has been noted for its groundbreaking narrative and representation of diverse voices. Mark's work at Sundance emphasizes the crucial role of independent filmmaking and film festivals in pushing cultural narratives forward, especially when mainstream Hollywood cannot fulfill this role. Mark has two films currently in production, the UNTITLED DRESS UP GANG MOVIE featuring the comedy troupe, Dress Up Gang, and SLANTED written and to be directed by Amy Wang (Crazy Rich Asians 2).He also produced the Emmy-Award-winning doc series, LEGACY: THE TRUE STORY OF THE LA LAKERS, directed by Antoine Fuqua, and WILLIE NELSON AND FAMILY, directed by Oren Moverman and Thom Zimny.Previously, Mark was instrumental at Endeavor Content, overseeing advisory business, film and television packaging and sales, and creating innovative distribution models for content creators and financiers. His expertise in global financing sources allows him to consult for financier clients, helping them evaluate projects and structure deals. Before Endeavor Content, Mark was a partner at WME Global, focusing on emerging voices and building companies for established talent. His notable past film projects include the Academy Award-winning CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, GOOD TIME, PASSING, BEASTS OF NO NATION, FRUITVALE STATION, DOPE, PATTI CAKE$, MUDBOUND, and SORRY TO BOTHER YOU.Mark joined Endeavor in 2006 after serving as Head of Development and Sales at Traction Media, where he was involved with acclaimed features like HALF NELSON, HARD CANDY, and TEMPORADA DE PATOS. His career began at the Genesis Literary Agency.Currently, Mark leads Mountain Top Pictures, an indie film and TV production company dedicated to championing innovative storytelling and supporting emerging talent in the industry. Mountain Top Pictures continues to make significant strides in the industry, highlighted by recent discussions at film festivals about the importance of diverse storytelling in contemporary cinema.
