Team Leader for the Dam Safety and Strategy Team in the Asset Planning Group at Melbourne Water. The Dam Safety & Strategy Team sets strategic direction for the asset managment teams and provides advice on Dam Safety matters to other teams at Melbourne Water. The team is also responsible for planning, prioritising and managing dam safety investigations as well as planning and prioritising major dam safety upgrade projects, dam surveillance including engineering inspections, routine visual, survey and instrumentation readings and emergency management.Investigations include hydrology, spillway capacity, dam break and consequence assessment, risk assessment, geotechnical investigations, structural and stability investigations and a range of other dam related issues.Melbourne Water's dam assets include 16 large water supply dams up to 160m high, a range of urban service basins, weirs and aqueducts, over 200 flood retarding basins and several hundred km of flood levee banks.I am also also ANCOLD (Australian National Committee on Large Dams) Victorian State Representative and Chairman of the VicWater Dams Industry Working Group
