After what I consider to be a successful 40 year career I have now retired from the IT industry. However, life goes on and I am now following a different path by developing my skills and experience as a professional Chairperson. My current roles include chairing Fitness To Practice Hearings for the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service, chairing Mental Health Reviews for the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and chairing in the Magistrates Court. I have at my fingertips a broad base of ‘business and life awareness skills’ built from an extensive and successful career covering Leadership, Strategy and Planning, Change Management and Service and Supplier Management and the experience of being a Magistrate for over 15 years and chairing Magistrate Courts for over 12 years.As an experienced leader I have led teams in areas such as IT Development, IT & Business Service Delivery, IT & Business Transformation, IT & Business Outsourcing and IT Regulatory & Control. I am equally comfortable operating in either a Business or IT environment and I have worked with Board Members and Senior Executives in both the private and public sectors. I have extensive experience of the financial services industry and, more recently, experience of the Government Regulatory and Mental Health Sectors.Key strengths include the ability to listen, facilitate and engage (customers, stakeholders, panel members, defendants, witnesses, counsel etc.), evaluate requirements or evidence (written, verbal, visual etc.), assess risk and deliver solutions and verdicts.
