During my time as a graduate engineer with AECOM I was engaged in a wide range of projects including industrial, education, commercial and residential. I am constantly seeking to grow my experience and enjoy taking on a variety of work that stretches and develops my abilities and understanding.I have gained great opportunities with AECOM working alongside various teams including IT, Sustainability, Energy and PCC which has given me a more holistic understanding of of the various working parts of this industry.

During my placement at AECOM I spent 2 days a week on commercial projects with the M&E building engineering team and the remaining 3 days working on my thesis project for The University of Edinburgh. The Project was based on a current project being undertaken in the AECOM Edinburgh office. My thesis work involves working across many disciplines which include M&E, Sustainability and Energy.

I spent 8 weeks working with the M&E building Engineering team and was mainly involved with the Electrical design team. This involved learning and becoming familiar with the process for producing a detailed and robust electrical design package. I gained experience in lighting, small power, containment, LV systems, fire detection and security design.

During my time spent working with Highnett Controls my main responsibility was to help the company update the schematics they had for their new and existing products from hand drawings to CAD drawings. This involved working closely with the MD learning about the products and their functionality to ensure all the drawings where coherent and technically sound.

As a Support Worker my main responsibility was to care for the service users helping them with day to day activities. This role also included dealing with many challenging situations can occur as a result of Autism and to do my best to help the service users to deal with the their behavioral difficulties.
