As Staff Engineer, I lead the MEMS design team in supporting our Manufacturing partner, Sharp Displays, in developing a MEMS display development (http://www.sharp-world.com/corporate/news/141006.html). Through design for manufacturing, failure mechanisms are defined and we must revise the designs to survive the failures through existing and new models. My team is responsible for teaching the Sharp design team to develop and design the next generation devices. This has entailed transferring some models from one simulation platform to another. Design documentation and revision control is also important at this stage. I also manage the layout team responsible for creating the photo-mask data used to fabricate the TFT backplanes and MEMS devices. Verification of the mask data (DRC and LVS) as well as maintaining the verification decks is necessary.

I was retained by Qualcomm after the acquisition of the venture funded start-up Pixtronix to continue design and development of our MEMS display technology. I continued work on structural modeling and began some CFD modeling. I had increased interaction and collaborations with our international partners including site visits and training. I developed and deployed code to mine our database and create reports based on user input.

I lead the solid modeling efforts in converting 2D layout data into 3D models. I designed and deployed a new test die layout and test fixture setup that eliminated any ancillary packaging steps or housings, reducing time to test by 2 weeks. I designed new test devices to extract various process and performance metrics.

I developed verification checks and design reviews to ensure our designs were error-free and met the needs of the various functional groups within the organization. As we transitioned from 150mm glass wafer substrates to Gen2 glass substrates (370x470mm) I coordinated with outside vendors for glass cutting into 150mm wafers for subsequent processing steps; material inspection and qualification were needed.

Performed routine maintenance and servicing of automobiles both domestic and foreign.

Performed existing conditions as well as as-built and road layout land surveying. Designed sub-developments including roadways, utilities, storm water management systems, grading and lot layout. Prepared pre and post development hydrology reports for proposed sub-developments. Designed replacement as well as new construction septic systems. Assisted in soil evaluation test.
